Would You Stop This Man Having Fun?

Grave Disappointment Last Night.

Have No Fear I Have Grown From It.

Just A Guy Trying To get A Business Going In Devon.

Started A Radio Channel.

It Is Set Up In My Name to Allow Other People To use The name Ivybridge As Well, With Out Filling The Google Search.
The Company I Use To Host The Channel Has A Gadget So Other Channel Can be Played Through Mine, Sharing The Shows & I Would Hope The same In return. No Dirty Tricks Or Competing Needed as I am The Only Me so No One can Not Be Better & I am Too Busy With A Young Family To Worry About Being Better Than Any One Else.

I Have Spent Many Hours On Twitter Getting Ready To Launch In A Raw Way.
#TorbayHour Pinched An Idea Of Mine, Then All The People That I Had been Tweeting With Thinking They Were There To Promote The Area In Fact Turned Their back On Me & Some Were Quite Rude.

So I Will Not Be Doing The Hour Things On Twitter In My Area, Just Stick To Ivybridge & My Friends Around The World. I am Sorry To My Other Followers That I Have Filled My Feed With RT on Monday's, Tuesday's & Wednesday's.

My Channel Is Raw Gaining Interest, I am Learning The Ropes & Sticking With Those That Can Be Honest To My Face So I Can Boast About My Town & Share All The Great Things I Have seen & Want to See. Most Important Of All The Very Interesting People I meet.

Why I #thecharleslloyd Love's Vine

The Best App Ever.

Look at that smile. A Mash Up Of Early Vines
I first heard about Vine from my 13 year old daughter, I knew nothing about it so went on to check. At first look it did not catch my eye. Then while on my 40 days Project I wanted to be able to give out a 6 second address via Video. So I did a search and up popped Vine again, this time it was presented to me as a Twitter but in Video.

#Marvellous

So I started to make them, as luck would have it I got some great people following me. I then found cool people to Follow and there started my Love affair with the app. I met with the Buddhist Metal Head and he suggested to me he wanted to start a group called #TeamPangaea.
I was very much into the idea as it was about making vines with out Sexist, Racist or Drug Vines. As well as not bullying or making people feel like crap for a joke.

That Makes Sense To me.

So since that meeting and Team Pangaea (One Continent) I have been having a ball, making short Video's around Ivybridge and Devon and Having fun with people from all over the world.

How Could You Not Love That

So In The Thick Of It.

Here I am Having A Bit Of Fun At Drakes Circus In Plymouth, For Ant & Dec's Supercomputer. It Has been a real Journey of discovery since then. Started the year in Panto Land which is my favourite place to be, I look forward to it all year. So for over half a year I have been busy getting to this point and now putting all the elements of a life time of work in one place which I want to keep me going until the grave.
Over on Vine you will see I am on the Team Pangaea. The whole idea of that is to stay positive and make vines that do not make people fell bad about themselves in the name of humour. Also keeping positive energy going rather than the negative. You can not be positive and full of energy all the time and for me when I am not it is time to keep the bad stuff from the social media.

So The Point Of This Blog Post The Charles Lloyd?

Yes indeed, it is a big thank you to all that have followed the adventure and to let you know the antics will return on vine soon, but at the moment I am putting everything in place.

The Day Of Rest For The Charles Lloyd

Yep, it is the day the clocks go forward. The night before, frustrated with the IT stuff I had Over dosed on coffee & watched too much Modern Family of that is possible. So a late night plus the clocks going forward lead me to wake up two hours later than normal. I sleep with the curtains open and let day light wake me, alas this was a dull grey morning. I got on with my normal Sunday stuff in good humour.
I harp on again, the IT, Geek, Computer Stuff Had Really Clouded the Brain, so only one half hearted Vine was published. Sadly as you can see here I was not even in the mood for blogging.

I have to confess to almost giving into a smoke just after lunch, the thought of the amount of work I had ahead of me & the fact most of it was new gadgets to learn I just went to hell with it. Good thing was though no meat and no booze. The children were spending the night and when the sun did come up in the late afternoon we played in it. Trying to get them down to sleep was hard as of course the clock had gone forward, but hey we did it.

Not a lot to report on this day, sorry guys. Next week is on the way. Thanks for the read.

Saturday in the midst of 40 days

The Great thing about the NHS is the nonsmoking help you get. I am finding the gum & the patches a great help. The dreams I have been having are brilliant, as I put the patch on before bed this brings on dreams. Not good if you suffer with nightmares, but I have been blessed with having action dreams. So I am traveling the world & visiting great places while asleep. Having the children stay the night was indeed another bonus so the Smoking section of the 40 days was right on track. Thanks to the children the products below and moi.

The children's mother had been out at a party the night before so most of the day we spent together. I was happy to be be taking a break from the brand, as the IT stuff had really over loaded the brain and it needed rest. Some people react well to being bullied to keep going on a mission, I am for better when allowing the brain to relax and then going back to it with gusto. The dealine is my own & the product so I guess I have the advantage. It would explain why I was no sportsman, I enjoy riding horses to get somewhere, and a good cross country run, but football, nah. I enjoyed a good game of rugby, but that is the only sport and of course swimming.

How did we get onto sport? Ok meat this puppy is kicking my Butt, since my trip to #Plymouth seeing and smelling cooked meat products being consumed I have found a craving about equal to smoking. So I am pushing up the nut intake and adding a vitamin B supplement to the diet. So hope that will quash it.

I live in the Centre of #Ivybridge, so a Saturday night can be loud. After dropping the children off back at their Mom's I passed one of the boozers in town only to hear two ladies who looked like that may have been in the pub all day having a heated chat about something I could not make out. So a smile to myself and a pat in the back that that night I would be avoiding the pub. With the overloaded head still with a bit of this damn cold, I took myself to bed ready for the clocks to go forward.

A quick pic of a clock and a big thank you for the read. Have a great day, #thecharleslloyd of for a #coffee still getting used to the hash tag thing. See you later, cheers.

Hi The Charles Lloyd Here

Hi Not Posted Here for A While.

Yes I have been having a bit of a laugh with @antanddec and the #supercomputer. Back in the day I used to manage an Elvis and we went off to have a laugh trying to win a Holiday. Lots of people trying to grab a bit of fame with us. I was just having a day out and wanted to see if the playful Charles was still in me. yep he was. I was number 24 to have a go and I was going to have a good time.
I am busy doing a 40 days Blog if you want to pop over there and have a read. A brand was born yesterday and I have a cold. So I have not been posting on this blog much. Have a read here if you have the time. Lot's of issues have been put my way and I am working my way out of them. Life is good, thanks for the read.

Being An Employer

So This Is Where I am At

Below Is A Photo Of My Fathers Factory

My Father had been a high flying Engineer and I had been a Number One Touring Stage Manager, Agent and Actor. We were both retired from our professions and were hand Printing Tshirts and Hoodies for local groups. I have children and thought Devon was going to be the place to slow down, Dad retire and I keep the family Business going, doing the odd acting or theatre job. Good Plan I thought.
Well as I have mentioned on this blog, my personal life took a tumble and while I was dealing with that, the staff that worked for us took it upon themselves to start taking over the roost & it became very much a them and us Place. Dad and I would have one plan and they had another. So my last few months with my Father were really stressful. Both of us confused why the pair were being so vile. I am in fact very bitter towards these employees of my fathers but will not let it eat me up.

So when people come work for me now, rather than be all cold I am going to be more welcoming. I have a vision that I see them to be a part of, I have open Blogs for people to read in advance of joining me on a mission just what this Beast (me) is all about. There will never be a them and us again. If people want what I have, then go start up on your own, you worry about paying the bills & meeting to tax and insurance the state needs. I enjoy finding the money to keep a team going with the brand they are working for, as we are all working for the same thing. Now that is out of my mind I feel much better, keeping a personal blog makes sense. Thanks for the read.

The Countdown To A New Brand Starts Today

As #Ivybridge Wakes Up

Very excited about the New Brand and the preparation for it. Months of study and finding talent to put it all in place has been going on in the background as I have gone about my daily routine.
Meanwhile I am running a Blog  Press here and have a look about Moi doing a 40 days & 40 nights Personal test getting ready to Launch the Brand, Healthy and ready to rock.
Have a read and join in.

Lloyd Productions GHQ

Love The Walls, A Quick Photo Below.

Well I have to say I am very excited. Not A great picture above, but it gives you the idea and of feel of the place. Very much the 50's influence to the building. Strong, sound resistant and in touch with the surroundings. It looks over some beautiful Devon Country Side with Dartmoor just behind it.
There are some Interesting Artisan Units around and the Landlord seem to put a lot of time and energy in keeping the place looking good.
So with all that in Place now, back to getting the artists juices flowing.

Housing Lloyd Productions

This Could be It

This old factory could be the New House of Lloyd Productions. Loads of space to rehearse in and be loud as we like. Marvellous and also at any hour of the day, always a bonus. I find nothing worse than waking up at 3am with an idea and having to sneak around the house with it, being super silent as not to wake the world around me. Or being on a roll and having to vacate the area as a person with a key has arrived to lock up. So no creative juice will be lost. It is three miles from where I dwell as well, so no time at all getting there.
The office space is large, so sofas, dining room, kitchen and play areas for the children can be set up, plus a music room.
As I have said before I will keep doing the odd screen printing Job, to keep the family tradition going and as luck would have it there is space for that. I am also liking the fact that when we are putting a show together there is enough room for friends and family to view it before we take it to the Theatre or film set.
So on Monday at 9am another viewing and take it from there. Wish me luck folks, I want this place really Bad.

It is Important to Include Your Children In Your Work

Here is Carys On the Set of Waiting in the Wings

Carys was born the Tec week of The Sound of Music at the Civic Theate in Grand rapids, where I was Playing Uncle Max. She saw her first show at four weeks old. This Production above was a year later & she was able to lap it all up. Plus woo the whole cast. I remember walking out on stage as Cliff to hear her say, "that's Daddy." from the back of the circle. A heart warming moment.
That Christmas she was with me every step of the way in producing Jack and the Beanstalk at the Wealthy Theatre, Grand Rapids. In fact she was good at the castings, as if she sat and watched an actor audition with out a word, then I knew I had a good one and engaged them.

So should you want to come work with me at Lloyd Productions, you will meet all three of my children. If you have children they are welcome to the work place as I will not produce anything child unfriendly. Lloyd productions is a Family Business. Yes there will be adult nights and certain times when they can not be present, but I find my children understand that and still feel included in what we do.
Getting the Jack & the Beanstalk ready for the public in Torquay in 2013 for New Pantomime Productions, they did not see much of me, but once we were up and running, you could not keep them out of the Theatre, they saw nine shows and wanted more. Really in this line of business it is great to be able to share what you do with all ages and everyone in your circle, or there would be no point.

So What Has Been Happening

This Is What I Have Been Doing For The Last Four Years

After living and working in the USA with my family for some time and the birth of my children, the big recession started in 2008. Lloyd Productions had been formed, our first production "Jack & The Beanstalk" had been produced, I had been enjoying a great career with Kramer International. Plus working as A Profession Actor, in Film and on Stage, as well as enjoying the odd bit of air time on Radio.
Alas that party had to stop as the money started to run out and as an Immigrant I felt guilty taking up good American Jobs as Michigan had been hit Hard. So when My father offered me a Job back in the UK as Production Manager within the Family Business Devontees we jumped at it, very exciting time for the family to sample British life. So I put my Theatre and entertainment days on hold and got busy Hand Printing & decorating garments for leisure, schools, colleges & business uniforms. Plus all the other groups that want their name on a Hoody, Vest or T-shirt. Entertainment became a side line for a while.
Sadly my marriage did not stand the move, but we managed to keep it clean for the children. As we all ventured into our first Christmas apart my father passed away. It was all very sudden, I take December off and do a Christmas Production in Torquay. So I was not with him at the factory when he Left Us. (something I do not like myself for right now) I will not go into detail about this part of my life right now, but what I will say is; the Company closed down in Tribute to him.
So again I am at the cross road, the path I am taking is to continue as a side line the printing for selected customers keeping the family history going, (my hobby in fact) & throw my full weight into Lloyd Productions. I have become a massive fan of twitter and have been finding many talented people out there. There is a Brand New Show in production and my resume is going out again to Casting Directors. Busy times are back.
Life is a marvellous gift, you will find knocks that will slow you down, confuse you and change your thinking. If you listen to the ambitious child inside; the journey to recovery is extremely rewarding. That child never changes and in the times when you do not know what to do, lost, miserable and in need of a hand back up, visiting the early memories, connecting with yourself again and starting out fresh again is to my mind the only way forward.
So please do join me and should you want to chat, tweet or mail me on here. Thank you for reading.

Lloyd Productions First Show

Jack & The Beanstalk

A sample of the Poster up there.

In Grand Rapids Michigan I was Lucky Enough to Team up with The Wealthy Theatre & grabbed the opportunity to produce the Cities first Anglo Panto.
I had just Finished Playing Uncle Max in The Sound Of Music at The Civic Theatre there and had met some some Very Enthusiastic Local Talent.
So in 2008 we started production.
My idea was Penned by Jeff Duncan and an Original Score was created By Jon Lee.
The local Media were fantastic and as an Englishman I was shocked at how much support I got, as in the UK you have to open an vein to get a paragraph in the local rag or sleep with the editors cousin.
Bad Charles, should not have typed that.
As the Theatre had 400 seats a large cast was not an option, So we used puppets for the Cloud-land scenes. For those from the UK reading that remember Sooty & Sweep you do not need this Link which shows a clip of Harry Corbett with his puppets Sooty & Sweep. That will give you a general idea of the style.
Below is a photo of the one puppets rehearsing, with The Jon Lee

The stage was small, so rather than have set fill Loads of it, we back projected the scenery, leaving plenty of space to perform in, Below you will find dame trots House which was painted By Steven Waulkazoo
The Beanstalk was the next issue, hurrah we came up with the idea of a cartoon beanstalk, Steve got busy with Jon and a great visual and musical effect was created.

The great people of Grand Rapids came to see us in droves, even though the snow was pouring down. If I had not come back to the UK in 2009 then I would have done Another. I will be going back to produce Again at some point.

It's Casting Time

I Enjoy The Virgin Script

Here we go, been looking all over twitter and spotting talent. Now it is back to the old ways, I love pouring over a script at my desk with a flow of tea. The iPad, iPhone and my PC by my side. For me you can not beat the pencil marks and rubbings out on paper as you put something together. Later in the week will meet with the creator of the idea and the final touches will be made ready to call in the talent. Popped a post up on the Lloyd Production's putting a loose call out, but no hurry.

Lloyd Productions Starts Trading Again

Here We Go

Yes an exciting idea has been brought to me, I like to work the project out myself performing the roles to an empty room before calling in the team. So I have been a Hermit in January, like a madman with voices & tunes running through the brain. YEP this idea is stinking HOT!!!

READY

This is my blog, so this is me talking. The Lloyd Productions Website, App, Blog, Twitter Page and so on are on being developed. In the meantime I am on Twitter @thecharleslloyd #thecharleslloyd #lloydproductions looking for the talent to support the team. Come Join In The Fun.
